Who is the Health and Social Care NVQ level 2 for?

This award is designed for care staff who support individuals within any care environment. The standards are designed to be relevant for staff in all care settings; whether you work in residential, domiciliary, support elderly or learning disabilities.

Course Content
In order to complete your NVQ as a learner you must achieve six units. For learners employed in a social care setting inspected by Commission for Social Care Inspection, learners must complete four core units and two optional units within six months.
Core Units
- HSC 21 Communicate with and complete records for individuals
- HSC 22 Support the health and safety of yourself and individuals
- HSC 23 Develop your knowledge and practice
- HSC 24 Ensure your own actions support the care, protection and well-being of individuals
Optional Units
You can then choose two units from the range of optional units that are available depending upon work role and work setting.
Qualification Delivery and Assessment
We have qualified and competent assessor’s who will observe you through your working day completing practical tasks in order that you can meet the requirements of The National Occupational Standards set by the awarding body. The Assessor will support you throughout your NVQ
Progression Opportunities
If your work role includes criteria from NVQ Health and Social Care Level 3 you will be able to progress on to this award.
